Process

Three steps to your records.

Getting official bankruptcy documents shouldn't require navigating federal court systems alone. Here's what happens after you submit.

🏛️

What is PACER — and why does it cost money?

PACER (Public Access to Court Electronic Records) is the federal government's system for accessing court documents. To use it yourself, you'd need to create an account, navigate a clunky government portal, and pay $0.10 per page for every document you retrieve — fees that add up fast. We have PACER access and pull your records for you, completely free for discharge documents.

1

Tell us your info

Just your name, state, and approximate year of filing. No case number needed — we find your file on PACER ourselves.

2

We pull your records

We log into PACER on your behalf — no account setup required on your end, no per-page fees. Your official documents are retrieved within 1–2 business days.

3

In your inbox, free

Discharge documents delivered by email at no charge. Optionally upload your credit reports for a free FCRA review by a licensed attorney.

Why it matters

Your discharge doesn't always stick.

After bankruptcy, creditors are required by law to update your credit report to reflect the discharge. Many don't. Accounts that should show $0 may still be reporting balances — damaging your score and your fresh start.

Under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, consumers whose credit reports contain inaccurate post-bankruptcy information may have the right to seek statutory damages, actual damages, and attorney's fees.

Upload your Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion reports and a licensed attorney will review them for potential FCRA violations — completely free.

Can't I just get these records myself from PACER? +
Technically yes — but it's not simple or free. To access PACER yourself you'd need to create a government account at pacer.gov, navigate the federal court filing system, locate your specific case, and pay $0.10 per page for every document you download. A full docket with all attached documents can easily run $20–$50 or more. We do all of that for you: no account setup, no per-page charges, no confusing federal portal. Discharge documents are always delivered to you at zero cost.
Why are discharge documents really free? +
We retrieve your discharge documents to help you understand what creditors may be reporting post-bankruptcy. If our review identifies potential FCRA violations, we may discuss representation options with you. Under the FCRA, attorneys' fees may be recoverable from a creditor found in violation — meaning there may be no out-of-pocket cost for legal representation. Prior results do not guarantee a similar outcome.
Do I need my bankruptcy case number? +
No. Your name, state, and approximate year of filing is enough. We locate your case on PACER ourselves. Having your case number speeds things up but it's not required to get started.
What happens after I upload my credit reports? +
A licensed consumer protection attorney will personally review them for post-bankruptcy FCRA issues — accounts still showing balances, incorrect late payments, debts not updated to reflect your discharge. If something looks wrong we'll reach out and walk you through your options. No obligation to proceed.
Am I obligated to hire you if I use this? +
Not at all. Records retrieval and credit report review are completely free with no strings attached. If you choose to pursue an FCRA claim we'll discuss representation at that point — but there is zero commitment required just to use this service.
How do I get my credit reports? +
Download all three — Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion — for free at AnnualCreditReport.com, the official government-authorized site. Save each as a PDF and upload them here, or email them to us after submitting your records request.
Which states do you serve? +
PACER document retrieval is available for cases filed in any U.S. state. Attorney review and FCRA legal representation is currently available for residents of Florida, Illinois, and Georgia, where Haseeb Legal PLLC is licensed to practice.
